Our Premier Training

Our collaboration with the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry Pediatric Dental Residency Program is 35-years strong. Our team of full-time Pediatric Dental Residents provide preventative and therapeutic treatments, including all levels of sedation, both in our main clinic and the Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital operating rooms. On-call 24/7 for oral health emergencies, our amazing Residents also serve on the Hospital’s integrated hematology, oncology, and cleft palate teams.  We train four USC Residents annually.

The CDHC is a clinical training site for several Allied Health professional training programs, notably, through our strong partnerships with Cerritos College and West Coast University. Each year, more than 130 future Registered Dental Hygienists and Registered Dental Assistants work closely with our clinical teams to gain technologically advanced skills and exposure to unique challenges encountered in not-for-profit dentistry.

In 2022 we launched our newest collaboration with the California State University, Long Beach Department of Health Care Administration. With a shared goal of improving care delivery inside the Medi-Cal environment, the CDHC serves as an off-campus academic learning site for second year Master’s students who focus on applied health equity research.
