The Children’s Dental Health Clinic is a multi-specialty, all inclusive, safety-net dental home. Our main clinic is located on the campus of the Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. We also have a school-based satellite clinic in Avalon on Santa Catalina Island.
Multi-Specialty Treatment Program
Our Multi-Specialty Treatment Program provides comprehensive dental services that include pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, specialty care (treatments under oral sedation, intravenous (IV) sedation, and general anesthesia), endodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery.
We proudly serve children with special needs and complex medical considerations such as autism, asthma, cancer, cerebral palsy, cleft lip/palate, Down syndrome, and sickle cell anemia.
Orthodontics
Our Main Clinic offers comprehensive orthodontic treatment (braces and Invisalign). We treat routine to complex cases, including those with cranio-facial/cleft palate development challenges. Call 562-933-0601 for a free consultation.
Early Intervention Program
Our Main Clinic is home to our Early Intervention Program, the entry point to comprehensive oral health care for children ages 0-5.
It’s a fun and engaging way for parents and kids to prevent cavities, learn about healthy habits, and reduce children’s fear of the dentist.
Patients and caregivers meet privately with our Early Intervention team members – a Registered Dental Hygienist and a Patient Care Coordinator – for 30-minute sessions at 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month intervals to:
- screen for oral health status and assess the risk of cavities
- receive a toothbrush cleaning and fluoride treatment
- practice brushing and learning about oral health and nutrition
- set self-management goals, such as daily brushing and flossing and reducing sugary drinks, like soda, intake
- refer to treatment, if needed, right here at their dental home with our quality, comprehensive Multi-Specialty Treatment Program
