Training Community
Our collaboration USC’s Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry and MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is more than 35-years strong! Each year, we provide hands-on training for pediatric dentists and oral surgeons through a Post-Graduate Clinical Residency program. Then, after spending time in the different placement settings during their first year, four of the Pediatric Dental Residents join our Multi-Specialty Pediatric Dental Treatment team during their second year. This gives them hands-on experience in preventative and therapeutic treatments, including all levels of sedation, both in our clinic and in the operating rooms at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital. They are also on-call for the hospital’s emergency room, and they serve on the integrated hematology, oncology and cleft palate/cranio-facial teams.
Through our strong partnerships with Cerritos College and West Coast University-Orange County, we serve as a clinical training site for their Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. Each year, more than 130 future Registered Dental Hygienists and Registered Dental Assistants work closely with our clinical teams to gain technologically-advanced skills and hands-on experience with unique challenges in pediatric dentistry.
We launched our newest collaboration with California State University, Long Beach’s Health Care Management Department in 2022. Through this partnership, we serve as an internship placement for students earning their Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Health Care Administration.

National, State and Local Community
Our team is passionate about what we do, so many have held leadership roles with prominent industry groups, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), California Dental Association (CDA), California Dental Hygienist’s Association (CDHA), Dental Board of California, Harbor Dental Society, Long Beach Dental Hygienists’ Society (LBDHS), and Oral Health Long Beach. This includes serving on committees and as subject matter experts, advocating for our patients and families, and keeping up on the latest developments within our industry.
