At the Children’s Dental Health Clinic, we are proud to provide a comprehensive array of pediatric dental services in our main clinic on the Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital campus. We also provide some of these services from our school-based, satellite clinic in Avalon on Catalina Island. (Our Avalon clinic is only open select days throughout the year.)

Early Intervention Program
Our Oral Health Education Center’s Early Intervention Program is a great way to introduce children ages 0-5 to oral health care. We provide fun and engaging ways for children and parents to work together to prevent cavities, learn about healthy habits, and reduce a child’s fear of the dentist.
Parents/caregivers and their children meet with our Patient Care Coordinator and Registered Dental Hygienist for an in-depth, 30-minute session every three-to-six months that includes:
- An oral health screening, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment and dental assessment/care plan to determine the risk for cavities
- Lessons on and practice brushing teeth
- Oral health and nutrition education
- An oral health kit and materials to take home
- An opportunity to set self-management goals, such as daily brushing/flossing or reducing the quantity of sugary drinks
Depending on the results of the dental assessment/care plan, the child will be scheduled for their next follow-up appointment with the Oral Health Education Center in three or six months, and they may be referred to treatment in our comprehensive Multi-Specialty Treatment Program.
Schedule Your Visit
